The purpose of the training is to support low literacy newcomer women largely unreached by existing employment training programs that are limited to English-language training until they reach a sufficient level for workplace employment training. The training allows for practical learning that is required for workplace success in the Housekeeping industry. Ultimately, the training will provide “functional literacy” to newcomer women who have a desire to find employment.
